For the Record: An attempt to answer the most frequently-
asked questions concerning the Battle of the Little Big Horn

by James V. Schneider. Introduction by John M. Carroll. Indexed.

Jim Schneider served as a Seasonal Ranger at the then Custer Battlefield National Monument during the summers of 1979 and 1980. For the Record was written in 1982, about one year before the wildfire that led to the archaeological dig of 1985, about a decade before the name of the national monument was changed, and about two decades before the Indian memorial was dedicated at the battlefield. Although those events affect some of the answers to the 25 questions posed, this work stands the test of time.
